About Alchemy live 20th anniversary ed., can you explain anything about the differnces between the 3 versions?
    Thank-you,

    I’ll tell you what:
1st version, STANDARD: 1 DVD of the concert (VHS transferred to DVD)
2nd version, DELUXE 2-DISC: 1 DVD + CD of the concert
(or maybe 1 DVD with promotional DVD for last MK record)
3rd version, BLU RAY: 1 Blu Ray of the concert.

That’s all. No extra songs. No extra fucking thing.

  3. David says:

Alchemy is from July 1983, so it should be 27th Anniversary, not 20th.

  4. Joan says:

    What a BLUFF!
Who do you try to trick? A recording from 1983 can NEVER be a high resolution recording, so the Blu Ray quality will be like the DVD.
Besides it will be in 4:3, when all TVs are 16:9 right now.
    SHAMEFUL…
What about Love over gold song? Have you forgotten it?

You are a sceptic. Check your previous comment above – “No extra songs. No extra fucking thing”. Bonus material not too bad. We remember Love over gold song, but we (fan site team) do not produce the DVD and Blu-Ray. Just keep fans in touch. Please be more correct to comment here. We do not understand your aggression.

Hi. My bad comments are for Universal Music and for those who could manage to get new material and haven’t got it.
As you must know aLCHEMY is maybe the most preciated album for Dire Straits fans. No one never understood why there were some songs left.
This time was our real (and last) chance to get the whole concert.
The final result has been what we thought: nothing new.
Relating extra material there’s plenty to find in the net. All DS fans have the documentary Arena 80 and the other live songs from OGWT.
We even have the aLCHEMY whole concert from audience recording and we all know what songs were left. And we know why in some case (first take of Solid Rock).
It’s always a gift to try to offer new material to the impatient fans
but in DS case all DVD’s have been always the poorest DVD’s you could find. Cuttings, no extras, standard image, etc.
This time, to leave “Love over gold” off is just weird.
To have aLCHEMY in DVD and Blu Ray it’s excellent news, of course, but we just wanted more.

Totally agree, we need more. By the way it is better than nothing. And hope that management and studio did best to have a good quality picture and sound on DVD and Blu-Ray. Brother is Arms is the poor digital record made by Sony DAT with 16bit/48kHz in 1984. But Chuck Ainlay did a good work and HD multichannel version (on SACD and DVD-Audio) sound great.
