Communique tour 1979

Dire Straits recorded their second album Communique and set promotion tour in North America, U.K. and Europe. U.S. leg included 51 sold out shows during 38 days. All concerts in U.K. and Europe were sold out too.

The lineup included Mark Knopfler, David Knopfler, John Illsley, Pick Withers.

The Rockpalast show (Cologne) was filmed and broadcasted by WDR TV channel. Two shows at Rainbow Theatre (London) were filmed too, and the episodes from the shows were included in the BBC documentary 'Arena' (1980). Also the concert at Roxy (Los Angeles) was filmed and is available on the Bavarian TV report documentary (1979).

The soundboard records include the concert at Old Waldorf (San Francisco) released (as promo LP) by Warner Bros, the concerts at Tower Theatre (Philadelphia) and Orpheum (Boston) available on bootlegs.
