On Every Street tour 1991-1992

After the Knewborth Festival (1990) Mark Knopfler and Ed Bicknell came to agree to re-issue Dire Straits. New studio album ‘On Every Street’ was released in 1991 and Dire Straits began their world tour at The Point in Dublin.

While Knopfler, Illsley, Fletcher and Clark, the tour nine-piece line-up included Chris White (sax), Paul Franklin (pedal steel), Danny Cummings (percussion), Phil Palmer (guitar) and Chris Whitten (drums).

During tour more than 7 million people visited the Dire Straits concerts.

Three concerts in Europe (St. Jacob Stadium in Basel, Les Arenes in Nimes and Feyenoord Stadium in Rotterdam) were officially filmed. Parts of the concerts in Nimes and Rotterdam were released as "live" album and commercial video 'On The Night'. Later ‘On The Night’ was released on DVD-Video. Concert in Basel is available on bootleg only.
